Building Projects, Whistler Renovation

I met Will & Mickey the first time at their condo in the upper village. They were looking very motivated and enthusiastic about the idea of realizing their project of remodelling their newly acquired condo in the Aspens.
The condo is West facing, so beautiful "end of the day" light. The condo also has a lot of light in the morning due to light reflecting off of the facing building. They have great views on the outside pool and hot-tubs and over the Tantalus Mountain Range.
We talked about the steps and of the way I usually proceed. We established a timeline and budget. I listened to their needs and ideas. We worked very closely at finding materials, textures, and colours that would suit the place and their taste.
We went with a very organic feel with concrete countertops, nylon carpet and travertine fireplace surround. We chose a neutral tone of colours and decided that the accent colors would be part of the accessories, bedding, arts displayed, etc..
We changed the layout a little bit and did some structural changes to allow more space in the hallway by taking the guest closet out and replacing it with a dresser. We also moved the kitchen by 1 foot in order to get a more flowy area to cook in and hang out.
Everything was thought of in order to make the space look & feel bigger. We remodelled the entry closet door and made an open, custom ski rack display and shelf. We chose a glass coffee table and the dining room table can extend to accommodate extra dinner guests.
It has become a fabulous place for the McKays to enjoy meals like West Coast Salmon with BC wine, followed by an evening hot-tub under the stars. I'm really happy the McKays have a beautiful new condo to call home.

TESTIMONIALWe purchased our condo at The Aspens in February 2011 with the intention of beginning renovations at the end of the ski season. Sitka Renovations was recommended to us, along with 2 other Whistler-based contractors. Etienne contacted us and offered his services in a timeframe that fit with our requirements. However, before entering into a formal contract, Etienne insisted that we view his previous work, as he wanted to make sure that we had an understanding of the quality of his company's workmanship. We were therefore impressed with his professional approach right from the outset.
